Sacha Baron Cohen may be known for his tasteless humor, but a scene from his new movie which ridicules Michael Jackson has been cut out at the last minute.
It was deemed “in too poor taste,” in light of the fact that Jackson died yesterday at the age of 50. The change was made in time for the Bruno premiere.
A situation like this is almost unheard of, as the studio in charge of the film’s release had to perform the last-second edit in time for the debut last night.
Bruno follows Sacha Baron Cohen’s alias, a gay fashion reporter from Austria (Bruno) on a journey around America. It’s Cohen’s NC-17 follow-up to Borat.
In the deleted scene, Cohen, in character as Bruno, conducts a ridiculous interview with La Toya Jackson, sister of the late Michael, in his chic LA apartment.
