Before she was a world-renowned trashy reality star, Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi was criminally charged for getting minors trashed at a house party.
A party that ended with a DUI death of a classmate.
Snooki was one of three individuals charged in connection with the 2004 death of teenager Michael Truncali, a Marlboro, N.Y., High School senior at the time.
Truncali died with a BAC of .18 - more than twice the legal limit - when he crashed his car and died on Thanksgiving after drinking for hours at Snooki’s house.
He had been drinking heavily in Snooki’s basement before crashing his car on his way home. Snooki was charged with Prohibited Sale of Alcoholic Beverages.
Snooki, of course, has emerged as one of the breakout stars of MTV’s hit show, where partying and binge drinking is frequently part - or all - of the episodes.
